Lights of Love

Gardens of Grace are hosting our second annual Lights of Love service with the generous support of Christ Church Dartmouth. This Christmas service is a gentle way for all who have been deeply touched by the death of a child, at any age or stage of the child’s life and is an opportunity to honour the loved ones no longer with us in a beautiful and non-denominational setting during a season that can be very difficult. This year we are honoured to welcome special guests The Aeolian Singers.

The service is a family friendly evening of traditional carols, readings and musical performances. It is free to attend, with a free will basket available to contribute to the music program at Christ Church. There will be a Christmas tree on which to hang messages for loved ones and the opportunity to light a tea light in memory of your baby or loved one. If you are not able to attend a Lights of Love service in person you are welcome to visit our Christmas Snowflake Kisses page where you can name a snowflake in memory and make a donation to Gardens of Grace.

Lights of Love Christmas Carol services have been held in December at venues across Great Britain by SANDS(Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity) for fifteen years. SANDS has also been very obliging in allowing us to continue the tradition here in Nova Scotia.

This candlelit service will be led by Reverend Bonnie Baird, with music direction by John Bogardus. It will include Christmas carols, readings, musical entertainment, candle lighting, and tag hanging in honor of your loved one.
